Branch Meetings We encourage all parents/guardians to join us for our regular monthly meetings throughout the training year whether a member or not. Meetings of the Lanark Branch are held monthly on the second (2 nd) Thursday at the Navy League Building, 137 John Street, Carleton Place at 1900. Regular meetings are important as they keep individual members informed of everything that is going on in the Branch and with the cadet programs.Who May Attend and Who May Vote? Members, Commanding Officers (or delegates), Parents of cadets, and any other interested persons are welcome to attend. Non-members are not permitted to vote, or to move or second a motion for discussion however they may address the meeting by invitation. Annual General Meeting (AGM) The Lanark Branch of the Navy League is required to hold an Annual General Meeting each fiscal year at which: • The financial statements for the previous fiscal year, and the budget for the current year are presented, and • A slate of officers to manage the affairs of the branch for the ensuing year is elected. This annual meeting provides a forum to exchange information, report to parents/guardians on the years’ activities and recognize the many accomplishments of our cadets. You must be a member 30 days prior to the AGM in order to vote at the meeting. Also, if you would like to consider running for one of the positions, you must be a member for a period of one year.
